Dr. Michael Bowes: Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Bowes was born in New York and spent most of his young childhood in Connecticut. Michael knew he wanted to work with animals at a young age; as a kid, he was fascinated with nature and all of the creatures it held.
In addition to growing up with cats, dogs and guinea pigs, Michael was always bringing home temporary visitors that he found in the woods behind his house. Much to his mother’s dismay, frogs, salamanders, turtles and snakes were regular guests at the Bowes household.
Michael moved to Georgia when he was twelve and finished his grade school in Alpharetta. Before he knew it, becoming a veterinarian had faded to a childhood dream. It wasn’t until he was a semester away from obtaining his business degree that the fog cleared, and he remembered what he really wanted to do with his life.
Dr. Bowes obtained his veterinary degree from UGA in 2017. Just a few days after graduation, he started working at Haynes Bridge Animal Hospital as a veterinarian. While Dr. Bowes enjoys the wide variety of cases that general practice provides, he has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and neurology. In his spare time, Dr. Bowes enjoys spending time with his two furry children, a mixed breed dog named Colonel, and Hermes, his Bengal cat.
