Our Pet-loving And Highly Skilled Vets
Dr. Brittany Taylor: Veterinarian and Co-Owner
A distinguished graduate of the University of Georgia's esteemed College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Taylor proudly earned the top spot in her class, showcasing her dedication and commitment to the well-being of our furry friends, big and small. Originally hailing from the sunshine state of Florida, Dr. Taylor's journey into the world of animal care was preceded by a successful career as a Registered Nurse in the postpartum unit. While her time in human healthcare was valuable, it was her unwavering love for animals that ultimately steered her towards a new calling. With a heart devoted to the welfare of pets, Dr. Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge and a nurturing touch to every patient she encounters. Her areas of expertise extend to dogs, cats, and even pocket pets. Beyond her professional accolades, Dr. Taylor also shares her home life with a delightful menagerie. Meet Bree and Nessie, her two canine companions, and the feline duo, Meeko and Scotch. Adding a touch of exotic flair to her home, Dr. Taylor also cares for Spyro, a ball python, and Kelpie, an axolotl. This unique blend of pets exemplifies her genuine love for all creatures, big and small. In her leisure time, Dr. Taylor finds joy in the pages of a good book, indulging her love for reading. Additionally, she cherishes moments spent with her husband of 10 years, creating a foundation of love and support that enhances her compassionate approach to veterinary care. As the co-owner of Haynes Bridge Animal Hospital, Dr. Taylor takes immense joy in overseeing the health and happiness of each patient. Her warm demeanor, coupled with a commitment to excellence, ensures that your pets receive the best care possible. Dr. Kristie Johansen: Veterinarian and Co-Owner Dr. Johansen is originally from Maui, Hawaii and moved to Georgia with her family in 2001. She met her husband, Eric, while attending Berry College for her undergraduate degree and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. She was the President of the Gwinnett County Veterinary Medical Association for 10 years. Although she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, her professional interests include preventative care, dermatology, pocket pets, teaching and community outreach. At home, Dr. Johansen enjoys family time with her husband and two children, her Golden Retriever, Griffin, and two fun loving cats, Ziggy and Belles. Dr. Michael Bowes Dr. Bowes was born in New York and spent most of his young childhood in Connecticut. Michael knew he wanted to work with animals at a young age; as a kid, he was fascinated with nature and all of the creatures it held. In addition to growing up with cats, dogs and guinea pigs, Michael was always bringing home temporary visitors that he found in the woods behind his house. Much to his mother’s dismay, frogs, salamanders, turtles and snakes were regular guests at the Bowes household. Michael moved to Georgia when he was twelve and finished his grade school in Alpharetta. Before he knew it, becoming a veterinarian had faded to a childhood dream. It wasn’t until he was a semester away from obtaining his business degree that the fog cleared, and he remembered what he really wanted to do with his life. After a long journey comprised of science classes, shadowing under Dr. Lafferty and veterinary school itself, that once childhood dream finally became a reality. Dr. Bowes obtained his veterinary degree from UGA in 2017. Just a few days after graduation, he started working at Haynes Bridge Animal Hospital as a veterinarian. While Dr. Bowes enjoys the wide variety of cases that general practice provides, he has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and neurology. In his spare time, Dr. Bowes enjoys spending time with his two furry children, a mixed breed dog named Colonel, and Hermes, his Bengal cat. |
